For this essay we were asked to reflect upon the original professional goal statement we wrote for entry into the MAED program at Michigan State, and to express new goals that developed throughout the journey.
We have chosen an online format for our Master's degree. For myself and my peers, this opened doors of discovery we never expected. This essay describes my new perspective on where and when learning can occur and my plans for more formal education as well as informal learning.
The last writing assignment of the Capstone Seminar was to reflect back on our entire Master's degree journey and synthesyze what we had learned about education and ourselves along the way. There were particular courses that had significant impact on my growth and instructors that truly exemplified effective teaching. Certain literature and common themes found throughout course content influenced my current philosophy and goals, and in this essay I explain with greater detail.
